Super Visa Requirements

To qualify for a Super Visa, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Relationship Requirement: Must be a parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Invitation Letter:
    1. A letter from the child or grandchild in Canada confirming financial support for the applicant’s stay.
    2. A list of all household members in the Sponsor’s residence.
    3. A copy of the host’s Canadian passport or permanent resident card.
  • Financial Support: The sponsor must meet the Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) based on family size to support the visiting parent or grandparent.
  • Medical Examination: Applicants must complete a medical exam by a physician approved by IRCC.
  • Medical Insurance:
    1. A one-year medical insurance policy from a Canadian provider.
    2. Minimum coverage of $100,000.
    3. Proof of full payment (not just a quote).
  • Proof of Ties to Home Country: Evidence demonstrating the intent to return home after the visit, such as:
    1. Property ownership
    2. Financial assets
    3. Family and employment commitments
